Lessons & Training - SPECIALIZING IN TRAINING BOTH THOROUGHBRED AND RIDER
Currently accepting confident intermediate riders and above.
Maui Meadow Farm specializes in instructing riders in utilizing proper training techniques in schooling and training thoroughbreds for various disciplines to compete and new careers. Our riders learn effective techniques in training horses as well as educating and focusing on the rider's knowledge and enhancing their strengths.
Riders who ride with us study the basics of dressage, jumping and cross country, focusing on both rider and horse. Riders will also learn to properly be "show ready" in grooming.
Maui Meadow Farm has many horses on premises provided to riders, as well as riders able to bring their own horses.
Thoroughbreds horses are trained in a different manner for racing and at many times are not ridden the same as any other horse. We specialize in proper training techniques. Riders may also ship their horses in for lessons.
Please keep note, your lesson STARTS at your lesson time. If you are late to your lesson and still need to tack up, etc. - your lesson riding time will not be extended.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your lesson to tack up your horse. Please be aware you will need extra time after your lesson to properly cool your horse out and groom.
Please Contact 610-793-1255 For more information or to schedule a lesson.
Lessons are advised for intermediate riders and above.
Showing and competing
Students who are currently taking lessons at Maui Meadow Farm and wish to show, compete or participate in off site events are required to do the following:
Students who wish to show or compete are required to take a mandatory once weekly lesson at least 5 weeks prior to the show they wish to attend, as well as regularly ride. Students who own their own horses will be given assignments or "home work" and are expected to keep their horses fit enough by either riding or swimming and properly groomed prior to any show. Please do not hesitate to ask your instructor or coach to assist you in any of these areas.
No student will be permitted to show or attend an off site event if their instructor feels they are not suited or "ready" at that time. Horses who are entered to event will be inspected and ridden by the instructor to ensure they are ready as well as fit enough to tackle a cross county course.
Requirements to show:
Along with our riding programs we offer the ability for young riders who wish to be involved with thoroughbred racing and training to gain knowledge and skill riding with us on our 3/8 mile track.
Many young riders, from children and up enjoy the thrill of riding in a point to point with their horses and ponies. This venture allows all to enjoy the sport of racing with their ponies and horses.
Contact us for more information and pricing.
