About The Farm
In 1946 just after World War II, Charles B. Lyman, a retired General, started what is now Maui Meadow Farm. Still considered the "Oldest Working Thoroughbred Farm in Pennsylvania", the farm has always stood stallions throughout the years and had the first syndicated stallion in Pennsylvania, Bold Effort, son of Bold Ruler and Roman Steps, a leading show horse stallion.
Maui Meadow Farm is centrally located in the Mid Atlantic region and is convenient to all major race tracks as well as only ten minutes away from New Bolton Center, making it an ideal recovery and rehabilitation facility. The farm is also very close to Fair Hill, Plantation Field and Windurra.
Maui Meadow Farm offers boarding of any horse, full breaking and training for both racing and new thoroughbred careers, breeding and foaling as well rehabilitation, post surgical care and lay-up rest. The farm features an indoor walking machine, a 3/8 mile track and for an alternative training method, swimming programs in our year-round 60' by 34' heated swimming pool as well as an outdoor jump ring, trails and cross country field.
Although Maui Meadow Farm specializes in horse racing, we welcome all horses from your companion horse, competition horses and even problem horses. Maui Meadow also offers a diverse professional staff on hand and each horse is matched with a handler that suits his or her individual needs.
From grooming, post surgical care, breeding, as well as breaking and riding for any horse discipline, you can be sure your horse is treated with the utmost care possible. We work closely with your vet or trainer to ensure your horse reaches their highest potential.
